camping in lake chelan...july

At the end of July we went camping with our good friends the Hoefers. They have three adorable girls and one son, Alex waiting to come home from Haiti (check out their blog below...Life in Hoeferburg...it's a beautiful story). Our girls all play really well together and we love spending time with their family. We decided in the spring to plan a camping trip together for the summer, which was a big deal because camping is not Abby's favorite thing...but I was thoroughly impressed by her. They rolled into the Lake Chelan campground with a little one throwing up, and later had two sick, but managed to stick it out and make it through the two nights anyway. We swam, rode bikes, walked through downtown, and escaped the heat at Starbucks for a while...real "roughing it" camping :o) Scott, Abby and the girls moved to Idaho this summer and so it was really special to have that concentrated time with them. We miss them dearly, but are so excited for how great of a fit Boise is for them!
